PART 1: COLLABORATIVE CASE STUDY RESEARCH 

In Part 1 of this course, students will address 4 topics as paired research teams. Each student pair will be given a precedent within the topic area and will be asked to select an additional precedent from their research. All findings will be documented using the graphic standards template and assignment guidelines. This section of the course is accompanied with lectures, tutorials, readings, and blog exercises.

PART 2: CRAFTING A DESIGN POLEMIC

In Part 2 of this course, students will apply the systems readings, and discussions they have investigated towards a project within a strategic site conditions: 'DIY' residential, 'educational' institution, or 'flagship' commercial mixed-use. This section of the course uses alternating paired and individual crit formats.
